Hey guys!
We are very happy to invite you to join us for a bike tour around the lake ! We will leave from Lausanne, and go around the lake in an anticlockwise direction, spending the night in a camping site near Geneva. On Sunday we will continue the loop, with the option of finishing at Evian-Les-Bains and taking the boat back to Lausanne, or to continue by bike until Lausanne. The first option involves about 105 km of cycling for the two days (saturday : 66 km and sunday : 38km), while the second one involves about 180km (saturday : 66 km and sunday : 110 km).
Warning n°1 : We will spend long hours cycling (4-6h per day), you must be in good physical shape to participate to this event. If you decide to stop the tour before Evian, it's your own responsability to go back to Lausanne. Having experience with long-distance bike tours is recommended. Biking can also be dangerous, you will have to follow the instructions of the members of the comity and wearing a helmet is strongly encouraged.
Warning n°2 : You need to be legally able to enter France (visa if needed).
We will transport your sleeping stuff by cars to the camping site so that you don’t have to carry them during the tour.
How to get your own bike ?
You can ask your buddy/friends in Lausanne of course. If you want to rent a bike for a month or for a whole semester,check with reCYCLO (http://www.recyclo.bike/), it is an association that rents bikes. There you can rent a bike for a month for 45 CHF.
We will provide tents for those who don't have one, as well as saturday’s evening dinner and sunday’s breakfast. We ask you to bring with you a lunch for Saturday, some snacks, as well as a sleeping bag.

Exchange student at EPFL/UNIL without ESN card, or local student with ESN card : 35 CHF

The boat ticket is not included and if you want to take it, you’ll have to buy the ticket yourself on the spot.

NB! in case of really bad weather, the event might be cancelled. In case that this happens, there will be partial refund.

Nous sommes très heureux de vous inviter pour un tour du lac en vélo ! Nous partirons depuis Lausanne, et tournerons autour du lac selon le sens anti-horaire, et nous passerons la nuit dans un camping vers Genève. Dimanche, nous continuerons la boucle, avec l’option de finir à Evian-Les-Bains puis de prendre le bateau jusqu’à Lausanne, ou de terminer le tour en vélo jusqu’à Lausanne. La première option correspond à environ 105 km de vélo pour les 2 jours (samedi : 66 km, dimanche : 38 km), et la deuxième 180 km (samedi : 66 km, dimanche : 110 km).
Attention n°1 : Nous allons passer de longues heures sur le vélo (4-6h par jour), vous devrez être en très bonne condition physique pour participer à cet évènement. Si vous décidez d'arrêter le tour avant Evian, il faudra rentrer à Lausanne par vos propres moyens. Avoir de l’expérience avec des longues randonnées en vélo est recommandé. Le vélo peut être dangereux, ainsi vous devrez suivre les instructions des membres du comité, et porter un casque est fortement conseillé.
Attention n°2 : Vous devez être légalement capable de rentrer sur le territoire français (visa si nécessaire).
Nous transporterons vos affaires pour dormir par voiture jusqu’au camping pour que vous n’ayez pas à les porter pendant le tour.

Vous pouvez demander à vos amis/buddy. Si vous voulez louer un vélo pour un mois ou pour un semestre, vous pouvez alors voir chez reCYCLO (http://www.recyclo.bike/), c’est une association qui loue des vélos. Comptez au minimum 45chf par mois pour un vélo.
Nous fournirons les tentes pour ceux qui n’en ont pas, ainsi que le dîner du samedi soir et le petit-déjeuner du dimanche matin. Nous vous demandons d’apporter un repas pour samedi midi, un sac de couchage, et des snacks.
