Hello everybody!
We open this « Welcome Week » with a hallmark of our city, the cathedral ! Located in La Cité, Lausanne's historical district, it was founded in the 12th century and has towered over the city since then. Besides being the biggest Gothic building of Switzerland, the Cathedral also has the particularity of hosting a lookout in its bell tower from 10pm to 2am - 365 nights of the year! - a service which has been maintained without interruption since the Middle Ages. Around the cathedral, you will find good viewpoints of the city and the lake. So don't forget your camera !

Nous ouvrons cette « semaine d'accueil » avec un monument phare de notre ville, la Cathédrale ! Située dans le quartier historique de La Cité, elle a été fondée au 12ème siècle, et a surplombé la ville depuis. En plus d'être le monument gothique le plus vaste de Suisse, la Cathédrale a la particularité d'abriter un guet dans son clocher entre 22h et 2h – toutes les 365 nuits de l'année ! -, un service qui a été maintenu sans interruption depuis le Moyen-Âge. Autour de la Cathédrale, vous trouverez plusieurs beaux points de vue sur la ville et le lac. Alors n'oubliez pas votre appareil photo !
