Greetings hike enthusiasts! 
If you came to Switzerland to see huge mountains , to hike in beautiful places and to see some wild animals like marmots, ibexes or eagles, this is the perfect event for you. We invite you to join us on our amazing Weekend trip to Zermatt. Two intermediate-level hikes in one of the most beautiful regions of Switzerland are scheduled for this weekend (be sure to be able to hike for some hours). The first one is called the 5-seenweg (Five lakes walk) and is one of the most breathtaking hikes around Zermatt. The second one will be near Randa.
We will meet on Saturday morning at the Lausanne station to take the train to Zermatt. Upon our arrival, we will stop at the hostel before hiking so we can drop our travel bags. Afterwards, we will take a mountain train to the beginning of the first hike. This hike includes a wonderful view on the Matterhorn all throughout the hike and a stroll around turquoise-water mountain lakes (with the Matterhorn reflection in some of them). Don’t forget to bring your camera to take a picture of yourself with the Matterhorn and a Toblerone chocolate bar.
After the hike, we will go back down to our hostel in Zermatt where we will have a fondue (with starter + dessert included) together. For those who have specific food intolerances / diets and can't have the fondue, you will have dinner in town that will be at your charge. Dinner will be followed by an evening activity with games, snacks and drinks. There will also be a possibility to go hang out at a bar in town for the motivated ones.
The next day, we will hike in Randa and will cross the longest suspended pedestrian bridge in the world (not recommended if you suffer from vertigo) and finally, travel back to Lausanne by train.
The weather seems to be nice at the moment (sunny with a touch of clouds) but as mountain weather can be unpredictable, we will keep you tuned if we need to change our plans. Be aware that temperatures are close to 5 degrees in Zermatt at this time, so dress accordingly!
